Common questions
Is what you do legal?
Yes. Preparation and integration are ordinary psychotherapy. We're talking, in the same way any therapy involves talking.
Do I need to have used psychedelics already?
No, and plenty of people come before they've decided anything. Wanting to think it through carefully with someone who isn't selling you anything is a good reason to book.
What if my experience was difficult, or I'm still shaken by it?
That's some of the most important work there is. A hard experience isn't a failure or a sign that something is wrong with you, and it doesn't mean you did it incorrectly. It does often need real support rather than being left to settle on its own. Integration work is well suited to this, and so is ordinary trauma therapy, which is also what I do.
How many sessions do I need?
Preparation is often a handful. Integration varies a lot, and the honest answer is that it depends on what came up. Some people do a few sessions around a specific experience. Others find the experience opened something they want to keep working on, and it becomes ongoing therapy.
I'd be skeptical of anyone offering a fixed package.
I take antidepressants. Does that matter?
It can matter a great deal, and it's a question for whoever prescribes them rather than for me. Interactions between psychiatric medications and psychedelics range from blunting the effect to being genuinely dangerous, and it depends on the specific medication and the specific substance.
What I can do is help you prepare for that conversation and think through what you want to ask.
Can you help me find a facilitator, retreat, or program?
I can help you think through how to evaluate one. What real training looks like, what to ask about screening and support afterward, what the warning signs are, and how to think about power and consent in a setting where you'll be vulnerable.
Do you work with people who microdose?
Yes.
Do you only work with psychedelics?
No. Most of my practice is ordinary therapy. Trauma, gender and identity, relationships, neurodivergence, substance use. Some clients come for psychedelic work and stay for everything else. Some never touch the subject.
